Welcome, I’m Ayo

I specialise in Anxiety, Burnout & Spiritual Trauma. I work with church girls who want to stop performing and start being fully present in their lives.

Learning who you are underneath who you’ve had to be can be overwhelming. And navigating it alone isn’t easy. My role is to walk alongside you, offering the support and tools you need to create meaningful change and reconnect with your authentic self.

My Experience and Approach

I’ve spent over 15 years working with individuals, children, and families as they navigate the complexities of life. My professional expertise is matched by a deep commitment to meeting you where you are, tailoring every session to your unique needs and story.

I specialise in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), which is particularly helpful for addressing anxiety, shame, self-criticism, and other related challenges. This approach is about cultivating kindness toward yourself—something that can transform the way you face life’s difficulties.

I also draw on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), creating a flexible, integrative approach that honours your personal experiences and gives you the tools to make sense of them. But we don’t just stop there, we use Somatic Therapy to go deeper than talk therapy and allow the learning to become something you feel in your body, not just knowledge in your head.

My work is also shaped by my training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). This means that whilst we may be talking about the past, I often invite you to experience the present moment, so that therapy becomes a space to practice connecting with yourself and with others.

But beyond the techniques, my therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. Therapy isn’t just about tackling what feels wrong - it’s about helping you rediscover your strengths, set boundaries, and take meaningful steps toward the life you want.

I am committed to anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices in my work, so this means I am always interested in how issues like migration, colonialism, gender and many other things show up in our lives, and consider these ideas in the therapy room.

For the Church Girls Who Feel Like They’re Carrying It All

If you’ve ever been the one who holds it all together—the dependable, responsible one—you’ll know how heavy that role can feel. While I work with clients from all walks of life, I have a special passion for supporting the “the good, strong, reliable” women who’ve carried these invisible burdens.

These are the women who get things done, everyone relies on them, they put themselves last, over-give in their families, at work and at church - until they snap. Often it’s a health crisis or relationship breakdown that signals a need to change.

Taking up this role can mean overthinking every step, sacrificing your own needs, constantly battling burnout. Most of all, it can leave you feeling disconnected from who you really are. I know this because I’ve been there too. Therapy can be a space to release the pressure to perform & find new ways of being:

  • Learn to set boundaries without guilt

  • Let go of the need to always have it “together”

  • Learn how to identify fear based faith & anxiety inducing theologies

  • Reclaim your energy and time for what truly matters to you

  • Reconnect with who you are beyond the roles you play

You don’t have to do it all or figure it out on your own. Together, we’ll work on breaking free from cycles of overwork and shame driven self-sacrifice so you can step into a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.

Why I Do This Work

I believe in therapy because I’ve seen firsthand how transformative it can be. My own journey of growth and self-discovery has taught me how scary it can feel to prioritise yourself - especially when you’re used to putting everyone else first. But I’ve also learned how powerful it is to take that step, to embrace who you truly are and create a life that feels like yours.

That’s why I approach my work with a combination of professional expertise and heartfelt empathy. I understand the courage it takes to make changes and the fears that can arise along the way.

A lot of church girls fear that therapy will make them choose between their faith and their wellbeing but that isn’t the case with me. Neither is it a place where I force you to hold on to a certain kind of faith (or any faith at all).

My role is not to tell you what to believe but to help you make sense of how you got to where you are now, and what you might need going forward. I’m here to walk alongside you, offering both the tools and the reassurance you need to keep moving forward into a life that actually feels like yours & truly reflects your values and beliefs.

Clients often tell me that they feel truly seen and understood in our sessions, and that’s my greatest priority. Whether you’re working through challenges or simply looking for a space to reconnect with yourself, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

A Little Bit About Me

When I’m not in session, you’ll probably find me revelling in the simple joys of life. I’m a proud Londoner who’s now rooted in the West Midlands, and I have a deep love for stories that celebrate Black British experiences and African culture.

I’m also a bit of a home design enthusiast—home renovation shows are my guilty pleasure, and I love dreaming up ways to transform spaces into something special. My wall planner and weekly meal planner keep me grounded, but like everyone, I have my moments of chaos. It’s all about finding your way back to balance, and that’s something I strive to model for myself and my clients.

Qualifications and Experience

I’m accredited psychotherapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). I have advanced-level training in Compassion Focused Therapy through the Compassionate Mind Foundation, a certificate in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy & I am also trained in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP, level 1).

Before starting in private practice, I worked as a Senior Psychological Therapist within the NHS. This role enriched my understanding of the diverse challenges my clients face and allows me to provide a grounded and evidence-based approach to therapy.

If you’re ready to take the next step

I would be honoured to support you on your journey. Together, we can work toward a life that feels more balanced, intentional, and aligned with who you truly are.
